Tracy Cubbal
QBHS-MA/CDCA

Tracy began improvising in 2005 when she stumbled upon an improv jam hosted by longtime Cleveland improv troupe Something Dada. She went intending only to watch. Upon realizing that participation was mandatory, Tracy quickly had to weigh which would be more embarrassing, standing in the back pretending to participate, or turning and walking out in front of everyone. She chose to stay, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions she ever made.
She began taking improv classes shortly thereafter. Soon improvising locally wasn’t enough, and Tracy made the first of many trips to Chicago to learn the Harold at iO Theater. In addition to classes at the Annoyance, she has studied physical theatre and musical improv at Second City. While in Chicago, Tracy performed at the Playground Theater. She has been trained by luminaries such as Liz Allen, Jill Bernard, Joe Bill, TJ Jagodowski, Susan Messing, and Mick Napier.
Tracy has performed at the Columbus Unscripted Improv Festival, the Del Close Marathon, the Detroit Improv Festival, Phoenix's Ghostfest, and the San Diego Improv Festival.
Tracy brought an adult educational program to the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre in 2012. Topics included Discovering the Scene, Character, Performance Skills, the Harold, Theatrical Clowning, and Improvisation for the Completely Terrified. She has also taught at the San Diego Improv Festival and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Directing credits include River Side Valley Players, with whom she developed the signature form As Seen on TV: The Improvised Reality Show, and Akron's Point of No Return Improv.
Tracy directs the cast of Improv Game Night at Imposters Theater.
Tracy graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The College of Wooster and has a master's degree in industrial/organizational psychology from The University of Akron. She is a Behavioral Health Specialist who is working towards a Registered Drama Therapist credential through the North American Drama Therapy Association and has taught improv to clients in residential chemical dependency treatment. Tracy has earned several public speaking and leadership awards from Toastmasters International. In her spare time, she conducts family history research, plays the baritone ukulele, and is a volunteer counselor with Crisis Text Line.
